New Blog

I have lots of blogging to catch up on but apparently I have used up all my free photo space on Blogger so it's been quiet around here while I figured out what to do.

After asking around it sounded like moving to WordPress was the easiest plan so I've been messing around setting up a new blog (you know, in all my "free time")

Come check out the new site.  I'll be working on catching up on the latest "Haag happenings" here:

Thanksgiving Feasts

Caiden and Rylan both had Thanksgiving feasts with their classes this week.  Those type things are really tough to do right now with 3 little boys under the age of 2 in tow but I'm glad we were able to be a part of it anyway.

Rylan broke her headband right at the beginning of the first song - oh well.

niceSERVE

Saturday was time for niceSERVE again - a community service day our church does 3 times a year.  We did a park cleanup project we had participated in last spring but this time Logan was able to do it with us!

Caiden and Rylan are good workers and it was a fun morning for the 4 of us (Kellen and Toben stayed at the church and Brennen slept in the sling).

Designer Extraordinaire

Yet another original Caiden lego creation...

I am continually amazed with what this boy creates completely out of his own imagination.

"Dark" Party

In celebration of the time change we had a "dark" party.

(Actually I saw some fancy glow sticks on clearance at Walmart after Halloween and Logan had a late lab so I was trying to kill time before the kids' went to bed so I made up a fake, fun-sounding event)

Since running around the driveway with glow sticks didn't kill much time we also pulled out some left-over sparklers I bought at Walmart on clearance after the 4th of July (I'm sensing a theme I had not realized before - I must be a sucker for the after-holiday sale bin at the front of the store!)

Caiden really wanted a "serious" picture

That was $0.96 well spent!  (Shh, don't tell them a "dark" party isn't a real thing)

Touch a Truck

Saturday was our chance to go to Touch-a-Truck for the second time.  We all had a lot of fun last year so we were all excited to get to go again.  In an effort to record our actual lives let me just say that this year did not go well even though the pictures appear to tell a different story.

Last year we got hot wheels cars for each of the kids on the way in (because we were one of the first 200 or so people to arrive).  This year we went a little later and missed the cars - a disappointment Caiden never got over.  While Caiden was busy working through the unfairness that is his life, Rylan dove right in and really enjoyed the first few trucks we saw

Grumpiness is most certainly contagious because before too long Rylan had come down with it as well.  We struggled through a few more cars and then called it a day pretty early.  Better luck next year.

(Toben - not walking yet but can be sort of dragged along)

Caiden's favorites are always the monster trucks

Halloween

Unfortunately Logan had lab on Halloween and my parents left that afternoon so I had to step up and take the kids out solo.  Thankfully the weather warmed up after our brief "cold snap" and our neighborhood is great for trick-or-treating.

This is as fancy as we got with pumpkin decorating this year...

Brennen in the sling, Kellen and Toben in the stroller and Caiden and Rylan running up to each door - worked pretty well.

We had a fairy/butterfly (depending on the moment) and Batman

(notice they both switched it up from what the wore to school that morning for the parade - like two Halloweens in one!)

Kellen wore Rylan's old giraffe costume (it was 3-6 months so it may not have fit very well!) and Toben wore Caiden's old Marine outfit

They were too cute!

Fairy Tale Parade

On the morning of Halloween Caiden and Rylan's preschool had a Fairy Tale Parade for the kids.  They came in costume and walked around the outside of the school.

Grandparent Visit

Grandma and Grandpa were here for a long weekend to meet Brennen

Inspire some new Bronco fans (and set them up with apparel)

(Caiden insisted on wearing his shirt backwards so he could see the Bronco)

Take some walks

(We had a cold front come through during their visit and hit temps we haven't seen since April - like 70.  It was chilly but not as cold as these pictures make it look.  The kids were just really excited to get to wear pants, coats and hats)

Toben served up some soup

Jesus Heals the Blind Man

This week was Caiden's turn to present at chapel.  They did the story of Jesus healing the blind men and Caiden was Jesus.

(his expression in this one cracks me up)
